Republican Rule

Remember a while back John McCain gave a ridiculous speech about the economy that basically repeated George Bush's talking points and threw in a little Ronald Reagan "voodoo economics" for good measure?

This article below is the result of eight years of Republican rule.

It's getting rough out there.

The first paragraph of the article speaks volumes about where this country IS_and is heading!

"Driven by a painful mix of layoffs and rising food and fuel prices, the number of Americans receiving food stamps is projected to reach 28 million in the coming year, the highest level since the aid program began in the 1960s."

Now_I don't pretend to be an "expert" in mathematics OR statistics but one need not be an 'expert" to recgnize that__ Black Americans are roughly 12-13 million in total numbers. Only a fool and/or a racist would assume that_of the 28 MILLION Americans facing poverty_the majority of that population is Black.

The reason this story is a story, in the first place, _particularly the decline in the value of the $_ is because the majority of the poor_and working poor, in this country are WHITE!

Truthiz, Bush and Cheney and their minions have mucked WHITE-Americans up, on multiple fronts, from mainstreet-to-Wall Street!

Is it going to be a "cakewalk" for Black-Americans? No, of course not. But WE are "natural" Survivors; we had to be, in order to live in this country.

Frankly, I believe the next several years is going to be one H*LL of a bumpy ride for most White Americans!

And sadly, I believe that it's going to be an even Bigger nightmare for the families of military service men and women!

Truth

If it gets tough for White folks, you know it's going to get even worse for us. Throughout history, shit has always rolled downhill.

Black folks may be survivors, but when white folks start to resent the minimal gains we have made, we are in a vulnerable position. Most of our wealth is directly tied to our ability to attain positions in the larger white world. If the backlash comes, it will reall hurt us.

Ya know, Big Man, ordinarily, IF this were any other time in American history, I would Agree with you.

But as the lyrics to a song goes_ "the times, they are Changin."

As I've already admitted, it ain't gonna be a "cakewalk" for Us. No doubt, poor and working-class Blacks are feeling the pain. But that Ugly reality has been true for over 300 years.

As a people, WE've already SURVIVED the kind of Vicious and UNjust kind of "experiences" that other races and ethnic groups can't even imagine ever having to suffer.

So my "Faith" in my people remains Strong! We are indeed a "peculiar" people!

Truthiz, I believe the Racial divide that has plagued this country since BEFORE there was a "United States"_and since the first Africans arrived in Jamestown, in 1619_is actually becoming LESS significant.

I believe it's the class/economic divide that's emerging as a kind of "equalizer (if you will)_and that divide is growing day-by-day.

It appears that a lot more people (Black and White) are much more educated and informed these days about the GAMES being Played by the "elites" to keep Us divided and them in Power and making money at our expense!

White people, moreso than Blacks have funded Obama's presidential campaign to the tune of well over $125 million dollar$. It may even be appraoching $200 million by now?!

Will some low-income, less educated, blue-collar, white workers continue to see Blacks as "the enemy"_? Yes_absolutely.

But I feel, overall, this country is Changing, as the mentality of a lot of Whites and Blacks is Changing.

Time will certainly tell.
