I just got done reading your commentary about Dr. King's legacy on Al Jazeera. I agree 100% with you when you state:

This only serves to make it more difficult to fully address the injustice that is at the core of American life, the injustice that King opposed so vehemently."
Well said!!! I feel like Martin Luther King would be spinning in his grave if he knew how low we have sunk and how entrenched poverty and institutional racism have become. We have a very long road ahead of us. And that is where I think that Dr. King can still give us strength and encouragement...at least those of us interested in partaking.

Great Job! I think you're right on about this. The problems that exist seem ignored or swept under the rug and when they are exposed in any way-especially if there's anger- white america is shocked. Nothing has been fixed and we've stopped talking openly... I think Dr. King would be deeply disppointed in us as a race and a nation.
