Does This Mean the Justice System Is Working?

Someone shared this story with me, and I just had to pass it along. If you're wondering whether you should click on the link, let me give you a teaser:

Juror No. 799, an Asian woman in her 20s who said she works in the garment industry, was up for jury duty in the death penalty trial of Bonanno crime boss Vincent (Vinny Gorgeous) Basciano.
It didn't take long for her to start looking worse than the defendant.
Asked to name three people she least admired, she wrote on her questionnaire: "African-Americans, Hispanics and Haitians."
When the judge asked why she answered the question that way, she replied, "You always hear about them in the news doing something."

My first thought was that she was trying to pull the oft-joked about ruse for getting out of jury duty and it backfired on her.

Also we don't know if she's "fresh off the boat" or a savvy American born / raised Asian person. It says she works in textiles which _could_ imply she is fresh-off-the-boat but in that case it would also imply she's been smuggled in the country in which case she wouldn't be eligible for jury duty.

I'm thinking she's just a mind-blind idiot.

Big Man, I think the young lady was sharing her honest feelings. If she really wanted to get off jury duty all she had to do was single out Italians as her most hated group. Instead she went after Black and Brown.

I think she shared publicly what many others think privately, and are afraid to openly admit. She identify the news media as the source of her contempt for Blacks, Hispanics and Haitians, I would have to agree with her, the media has assassinated the character of Black folks, forever and a day.

Too bad she values the opinion of the media and is unable or unwilling to see past their collective racism. She is doing her part to suck up to whites and be their favorite minority, and be lite white.

I'm going to have to agree that there are far easier ways to get out of jury duty. Just say you believe the police lie all the time. That's it.
I think she believed everything she wrote.

It's stuff like this that makes me HELLA mad when a white public figure says something about Asians and they turn around and whine 'if this were the blacks'. And this might piss people off but how would SHE like it if I nodded in agreement with the offensive rant of UCLA student Alexandra Wallace.
